Crown prince unveils Fist Saudi Assambled Hawk Trainer jet & lays Foundation of Air War Center

The Saudi Crown prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Unveiled his nations first domestically manufactured BAE Systems Hawk Mk 165 Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) aircraft and a dedicated Air War Center at the King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Province in April 2019.

The air warfare center will be similar like Nellis Air Base in the US . The Warfare Center manages advanced pilot training and integrates many of the Air Force's test and evaluation requirements. Earlier Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Forces Prince Lt. Gen. Turki Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz visited the airwar center in the US . 

The crown prince witnessed the launch ceremony. He unveiled the plane and signed the front of it.It is the first of 22 Hawk Mk 165 aircraft to be assembled locally as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program. More than 70 percent of Saudi youth are working on the assembly of 22 Hawk aircraft after more than two years of training. 

the captain of the plane received permission from the crown prince via radio to take off.

 In May 2012, BAE Systems entered a contract to deliver 55 Pilatus PC-21 aircraft and 22 BAE Systems Hawk AJT aircraft to RSAF under the Saudi British Defence Co-operation Programme.Hawk’s cockpit is designed to look, feel and function like the latest generation of front-line combat aircraft.

The Heads-Up Display and full-color Multi-Functional Displays are supported by the latest generation mission computers that can provide display data representative of the latest combat aircraft such as Typhoon and F-35,
